This course is for students who wish to brush up their language skills in order to gain a Higher Education qualification. By the end of this course, you will be able to understand, write and evaluate critical academic reports. It will also encourage communicating in an effective and professional manner.

Course Detail

EAP is the English for Academic Purposes programme which teaches and develops students academic English language for higher education. The course aims to help you improve and excel your academic English skills to meet the language requirements to successfully complete a Bachelors degree or Masters at university.

The course is made up of academic reading, writing and speaking. You will learn:

  • Academic reading and strategies
  • Critical thinking
  • Note taking
  • Paraphrasing/summarising
  • Writing an academic essay
  • Referencing
  • Discussion and vocabulary
  • Presentation skills
  • How to manage and work independently

The final assessment will be a combination of written exams, oral one to one interview, group discussions and computer based exams. Certificate awarded by Trinity College London.

If you have taken an IELTS test your band score must be minimum band 4.5. If you have done a general English course your minimum score must be intermediate level (B1).

The length of the course depends on your minimum score. You can study the course from 3 months up to 1 year depending on your individual needs.

After successfully completing this course you can move on to our foundation programmes in Business Management or Engineering at WE or into your chosen undergraduate or postgraduate degree at one of our partner universities.

We offer small classes to ensure that you receive much attention from your tutor as possible. We give out homework to keep students minds working after college hours.

Unfortunately, we do not offer weekend or evening classes.

For the sake of your education, we advise you to wait till you have completed your course to go on holiday. However, you can request an emergency leave if required.

Yes, we will offer you support in finding you the right accommodation.

When you complete the application form, you will complete an initial assessment to assign you a level. If you are a student abroad, one of our team members will call you and arrange the assessment.

No, there is no uniform. However, we ask that you dress appropriately as you would in a academic environment.

You will need to bring a notebook, pen and your course book.

After completing the course you will be ready to take your new knowledge to employment or higher education.

If your child is over the age of 18, they can join our English Language classes.
